"I Believe" is a single released by singer Marcella Detroit, released shortly after the breakup of English based duo Shakespears Sister. It was the lead single off her successful album Jewel. Released in March 1994, the ballad became her biggest hit, peaking at No. 11 in the UK, spending eight weeks on the UK Singles Chart. The song was written by Detroit herself and produced by Chris Thomas.

The videoclip, directed by Big TV!, was shot in black and white, and was filmed on the ruins of the Beckton Gas Works, a location also used in the film Full Metal Jacket. The videoclip shows a group of people coming towards Detroit, who acts as a sort of angelic presence, all of them joined in a big embrace. This is to portray the peace and unity theme of the lyrics. Detroit said she modeled her performance on Maria Falconetti's performance on the 1928 silent film La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc.

A cover version by German singer Joana Zimmer was released as her debut single. It was a European hit in 2005, reaching number two in Germany, and she performed it at the Live 8 concert in Berlin.
